Dealing With Cat Eye Infections

Cat owners have to be prepared to deal with some of the most common illnesses suffered by cats; one of them is the cat eye infection.

Cat eye infections can be caused by different factors. There are three types of feline eye infections: Fungal, Viral and Bacterial. It is important we learn how to differentiate each one of them; but it is important as well to take immediate action after recognizing an infection of this kind and taking our cats to the veterinarian.

In the case of viral cat eye infections, they can be caused by Feline Herpesvirus 1, Panleukopenia or even Immunodeficiency Virus. In the case of a bacterial cat eye infection, we are mainly talking about Chlamydiosis.
