And now it’s starting to show – your clothes may be fitting tighter or you may just feel a bit overweight. And worse of all you still have some Easter eggs left and you can’t resist them. But you can’t always stay in Easter mode; sometime you have to go back to your old healthy eating patterns and also try to lose some pounds. Here’s how:

  • Make your meals lighter – Make sure that you start to eat lighter meals to lose some weight and to rebalance your overindulgence. You can find a sample light diet menu by clicking the link.
  • Stay away from your scale – The scale is not the most reliable measure you should go with – you may have some water weight due to bloating and muscles weigh more than fat. Rather go according to your centimeters and not your weight.
  • Avoid fad diets – Fad diets can slow down your metabolism – making you struggle with losing weight in the future.
  • Start exercising regularly again – Now is the best time to get in touch with regular exercise again. If the gym is too far, consider investing in a treadmill for home use.
  • Get additional exercise in – To burn off the excess calories you will need extra exercise. Do things like walk your dog, take the stairs and mow your own lawn or even take up a new sport.
  • Eat foods that keep you fuller for longer – Foods that keep you fuller for longer will help you to eat less. These include low GI foods, fiber and healthy fats.
  • Vow to never go overboard again – Make a promise to yourself that next Easter your will practice some control and restraints.

Just follow these tips and you will soon forget about the bad side effects of the Easter weekend.
