Outsourcing Dog Care

Though most of us would love to be able to spend the day with our furry friend, going out for long walks in the countryside or relaxing at home, the reality is that most of the population go out to work.  This means that all over the country there are dogs, large and small, feeling lonely at home.  Even if they have a comfortable dog kennel and lots of toys to play with, they may pine or even become destructive in their boredom.

If your dog is not coping without you then you will need to be a little creative with your dog care.  Luckily, there are many people out there who have made careers out of taking care of the dogs of others.  Before deciding on what type of carer you are going to employ think carefully about your exact needs.  It may be that your dog is quite happy to be left at home as long as he gets some good quality exercise during the day.  In this case you might want to employ a dog walking company who will come and collect him and take him for a lovely long walk, often with the beneficial social aspect of going with other dogs.

If you have a very young dog then a puppy sitter who will come and spend the day with him for the first few months of his life, helping to train him and socialise him, may be all that is required.  Though pet sitting services are still used by some people with older dogs when they go away with work or on vacation.

The dog day care business has taken off in a big way over the last few years.  This is a bit like a crèche for dogs where they can be taken on your way to work and picked up on the way home.  A pet day care centre will feed, groom and walk your dog and keep him entertained and happy all day long while you go out to work.
