Want to Entertain with Ease? Try Fondue!

Entertaining friends and family should be a fun experience, not a stressful one.  One stress-free way to entertain is to have a fondue party.    In the last few years, fondue has become more and more popular.  It is a fantastic way to create a memorable evening for you and your guests.  My favorite part is that I can entertain a crowd without feeling exhausted.

Before your special evening, you will need to find the right fondue set.  There are several things that you will need to consider when searching for the set that best meets your needs.

The type of fondue you plan on serving will help to determine the type of pot you need.  While some fondue sets can work with any type of pot, some only work with one or two.  Knowing what you are serving will help you determine what type of heat is best for you.  A fondue pot can be heated by electricity, sterno or tea lights.  If you are going to only serve chocolate fondue, then a tea light pot is all that you need.  You need to invest in an electric fondue pot if meat is on your menu because this is the only way that you are in total control of the heat.  Otherwise, getting your cooking liquid to the appropriate temperature can be difficult.  If you are planning on serving your favorite cheese fondue recipe, an electric or sterno pot will work for you.    One thing to consider is if you will have an electrical outlet handy where you are planning on serving.  As with meat fondue, and electric pot is easier because of the control that it gives you over the heat.

You will also want to think about getting a pot that is appropriately sized for the number of people you will be entertaining.  You certainly don’t want to be struggling with a fondue pot that is too small!
