Vampires Kick Ass at the Teen Choice Awards Winners
If you bet that bloodsuckers would sweep this year’s Teen Choice Awards, well, congratulations, Captain Obvious. Both The Twilight Saga and The Vampire Diaries won big at last night’s awards show, winning eleven and seven surfboard trophies, respectively.
Twilight took home awards for Choice Fantasy, Chemistry and Villain (among several others), while The Vampire Diaries nabbed surfboard for Breakout TV Show and nods for all of its main actors, including one for Choice Villain for Ian Somerhalder.
But the night wasn’t all about undead dudes with pointy teeth. Sandra Bullock delighted the audience by making a surprise appearance during the show to accept an award for Choice Movie Actress for her Oscar-winning turn in The Blind Side.
“I don’t know if you should bring attention to this. Some things are better left unsaid. It’s been awhile since I was a teen,” Bullock, 46, told the crowd. “I’m so blessed and lucky. The Blind Side – I got to meet so many good people, so many good lessons I took away from it.”
