Silver Sterling Necklace Simple Elegance

These days, we would appear to be experiencing a resurgence of interest in silver. This is actually quite a good thing, because it means that gold is on its way out. Part of the reason that gold is falling in popularity is due to its high price – anyone who has been following the price of gold lately knows that it has been hitting record highs since as far back as December 2009, and that it continues to trade at a very expensive price to this day. As a result, a lot of people who craft jewellery have refused to even make the same number of gold jewellery articles that they did a few years ago, and are instead shifting their focus to silver.

And this is fine by us, because silver is truly a more stylish and fashionable form of jewellery. Take a basic silver sterling necklace – a very simple piece, very affordable, and yet when paired with the right outfit, it can class it up much better than gold ever can. A lot of this has to do with the visual characteristics of silver, which is better at blending in with other colours rather than trying to compete with them, the way that gold does.

Naturally, then, a lot of people are moving to silver. Almost everyone these days, whether man or woman, owns at least one silver chain. It makes for the perfect accessory on an evening out, whether dressing up or dressing down – that’s not a compliment that can be paid to many other articles of jewellery. Silver just seems to have a sort of otherworldly quality – unlike gold, which shines and catches the eye, silver has a much more subtle and elegant gleam. It is like the difference between sunlight and moonlight – daylight is much more visible, but moonlight reveals things that you would otherwise not have seen. All in all, we think that the resurgence of silver is a good thing for the world of jewellery – this particular precious metal was long overdue for a comeback.
