Boosting Insulin Levels

A lot of people these days have problems associated with their blood sugar and insulin levels. This is clearly demonstrated by the burgeoning population of people in America with type-2 diabetes and insulin resistance. Many of these people take insulin injections on a daily basis while others are not so severe. Despite their severity however there is a simple thing you can do today which will help in boosting insulin levels over the long haul. This may help in keeping insulin levels high enough to manage blood sugar a little more efficiently.

A group of medical researchers recently found in studies that people who ate red cherries on average maintained higher levels of insulin. This didn’t apply to everyone in the group of subjects however the group as a whole did have statistically higher levels of insulin than the average population. This suggests that if you struggle to keep your insulin levels high enough to effectively manage your blood sugar you might be able to take advantage of this finding in your own daily battle with insulin resistance.

Of course if you have insulin resistance then you should know that cherries are full of sugar which can contribute to increases in blood glucose levels. It’s not that cherries are bad for you; you just don’t want to increase glucose levels when the goal is to increase insulin in hopes of lowering glucose levels. To get around this you should consider supplementing with a red cherry extract so that you can get the nutritional compounds in the cherries which help with increasing insulin levels but without consuming the sugars.

Obviously a regimen based on increasing insulin levels alone is destined to fail in regards to reversing insulin resistance so this should not be relied on in any way to improve your condition. To actually reverse insulin resistance you have to complete change your way of life. Improving both your diet and levels of physical exercise are a great place to start. Of course your doctor can more clearly guide you on this.
