Foreclosed Cars Info
Why Should You Buy Foreclosed Cars?
The biggest reason to buy foreclosed cars is because they’re cheap! Thousands of cars are foreclosed by the lender each month and are then sold off at auction to the highest bidder. These cars are commonly sold at 50-75% below market value. Even though the banks want as much as they can get for these cars, they understand that a quick sale at an auction is better for them than holding out for a few extra thousand dollars, so they will most often accept the highest bid whatever it is.
Where do You Buy Foreclosed Cars?
The easiest place to find foreclosed cars for sale are at repo car auctions. Many times there will be hundreds of cars for sale at one auctions. There are also several online auctions like ebay and other sites like it. Just be sure that if you are buying online, that you have the opportunity to fully inspect the vehicle BEFORE you are committed to buy. Sometimes you can get a great deal and have someone else do the work for you if you contact you local credit union and ask to go through their dealer. You will pay the dealer a commission, but you can still get a great deal on a car. This is a great way to go if you don’t know a lot about cars, or just don’t feel comfortable going to an auction yourself.
What Foreclosed Cars Should You Buy?
This all depends on your proposed use for the vehicle. Is the car for you to use, do you need a truck, a passengar car, a van, a 4X4? Or are you buying to potentially make a little money on the side? If you are looking to resell, you’re going to be looking for a great deal, but be sure you do your research first and find the cars that are selling the fastest. It matters if you have to hang onto the vehicle for 6 months before it sells. That could be 6 cars you could have sold and profited on from the cash you had tied up in that vehicle for those six months. So be smart. Shop around at used car dealerships. See what is selling on their lot and what’s not. Perhaps in your research you’ll find that there is a car the dealerships are missing, you could look for that car at the auctions. The last thing to consider in buying at auction is the amount of work you’ll need to put in to bring it up to resell.
