Once scars have formed it might take a few years for them to heal and disappear.  You can speed up the process by seeking acne laser treatment that will effectively resurface your face.  The lasers used in these types of treatments are very powerful yet do not damage the skin itself.  They can be used to even out the surface of your face and some people report results after only one session.  Just keep in mind that this type of treatment is quite expensive, so it is preferable to take measures to avoid needing it.
