Fish Oil Side Effects That Can Be Avoided

Fish oil has been used for years as a supplement for good health. There are several proven benefits of the oils, including detoxification of the body. Fish oil included in a body cleansing diet can give great results. Oils derived from fish such as salmon, tuna, sardines, mackerel etc, are rich in Omega-3 fatty acids; they assist brain function, improve blood circulation in the heart, and strengthens joints and the nervous system. Fish oil comes in capsule form and in its original oil form, which should be taken as a supplement. Eating fish regularly is also a good source of the vital fatty acids since our body does not produce Omega-3 fatty acids, vital for various body functions.

Many people on a body cleansing diet do not realize the importance of including fish fat. Although certain types of fats are to be avoided, most people are unaware that some fats are actually helpful for the body in order to keep running. Side effects include the decline of antioxidants in the body. Since fish oils are poly-unsaturated fatty acids, they require these antioxidants to oxidize. Therefore it is necessary to include good amount of fruits and vegetables rich in antioxidants. Certain side effects are caused by the pollutants present in fish oil. Sub-standard oils are not treated enough to get rid of toxins such as mercury, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCB) and DDT. These harmful chemicals hinder normal hormone growth. Hence, it is highly advisable to consider refined fish oil.
