Most parents do not need any help thinking of what to do when their little bird leaves the nest, whether that is for college or do to marriage. But then again some parents may need a little advice on how to spend their new free time, stated below are a few things you could do in order to fill the space your child is currently leaving vacant.
Buy what you have always wanted
We all know that your children did not necessarily take away all your money, but they were not cost free. Therefore when they leave the nest you know have some cash to do whatever you want with. You very well could invest that cash, or save it, or if you wanted to get a little wild maybe buy something. That sports car you always wanted to take your wife around in, or that new bed that is so very comfortable but it was always out of the budget.
Vacation
You have been saving up sick time at work and now is the perfect time to take that vacation you have always wanted. Go and stay not one week, but two or more wherever you heart desires. No worries about making sure your child is taken care of, they are now adults and on their own, thus its time for the no worries vacation. It is always nice to go to that tropical beach and just relax because you deserve it, or a colder region- it is whatever you want to do!
Start a new hobby
Now that you have some extra room in your house and time you could start a new hobby. You could get back to painting, and if needed you can sale or store your child’s extra things in a StorageMart facility. Now that their things are taken care of you can use their extra room as a study, for art, a collectible room. Do things away from the house go play tennis with some friends or pick up golfing.
If you like to find deals around the neighborhood then going to yard sales or flea markets would be right up your alley. You do not have to be a junk collector, you can be selective and only look for pieces you love or that meet a specific criteria. That way you do not have to go out of your way in order to store extra items. You do not want to become a frequent visitor to the StorageMart of Ontario, or any storage facility for that matter. Keeping your buys within a certain criteria will cut down on the amount of things you have to store in your home.
Basically do whatever your heart desires when you have the chance and your children are gone, its not that you were waiting for them to leave, its just now you have the time to do what you want when you want!
