Selecting A Wedding Reception Venue
After the serious part of the wedding is over all the guests make their way to the more relaxing affair of the wedding reception. The happy couple get to greet all of their friends and family and food and drinks are served.
Where the wedding reception takes place is often cause for much investigation as part of the planning process and at first it can be tough to come up with wedding venue ideas. The location needs to be close enough to the venue of the ceremony, large enough to hold all of the guests, picturesque enough to serve as a backdrop for the wedding photographs and have enough amenities to provide the guests with a great party.
Wedding reception venues are often large hotels or banquet halls. They specifically cater for large numbers of guests wishing to eat, drink and enjoy entertainment in the form of dancing or anything else that is laid on. All of the items needed to host a wedding reception, such as table linen, glasses, cutlery, decorations, even perhaps table centrepieces are often included in the package price. If you opt instead for a more unique wedding venue without such facilities, then you will have to factor in renting such items as well as the location and organise caterers and waiting staff. As such venues that seem cheap at first soon become a more expensive proposition.
If you are having a more intimate wedding, then you need to look for one of the many small wedding venues. Why not use your backyard if the space is big enough? The cost of hire will be zero but do not forget to add up the individual costs of all the suppliers you will need. Perhaps you could keep costs down by talking family members into preparing some of the food and use your own sound system to play music.
Other popular options for wedding venues are the bride and groom’s favourite restaurant although try and agree on discounted alcohol prices up front. More unique venues can also be chosen such as a theme park or a boat. Just remember that wherever you choose, the day will be special because of who you invite, rather than where it takes place.
