New Dragon Species Found!

German scientists have discovered a new dragon species called “Varanus lirungensis” from the mangrove monitor lizard family. This is a species from Talud Islands.

The scientist in charge of the discovery is called André Koch, from the Zoological Research Museum Alexander Koenig.  According to him this is an important discovery:

“because it illustrates the high diversity of monitor lizards in Indonesia.”
